California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010

The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 requires retail sellers and manufacturers doing business in California to disclose their efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking in their direct supply chain.

NDSM Holdings is committed to observing high ethical standards in the conduct of its business and complying with the law wherever we have a presence.  To ensure the materials in our products reflect these principles, we require our suppliers to be committed to the same high ethical standards.

Supply Chain Verification and Audits:  We are committed to fair labor practices within our supply chain.  We expect each of our suppliers to comply with all applicable anti-slavery and human trafficking laws of the countries where they operate.  To make this expectation explicit, we are incorporating into our supplier requirements an obligation that our suppliers recognize human rights standards, including an express prohibition on the use of child or forced labor.  Compliance with these obligations will be evaluated internally.   We internally monitor suppliers’ compliance with our expectations and requirements, and failure to comply will be sufficient cause for NDSM Holdings to exercise its right to revoke a supplier’s “approved” status or reevaluate our relationship with the supplier.

Certification:  NDSM Holdings is requiring our suppliers to confirm that the products they supply us comply with all applicable U.S. state and federal anti-slavery and human trafficking laws as well as the laws of the countries where they operate.  We are developing a program to evaluate any potential suppliers’ compliance before they enter our supply chain.

Internal Accountability:  All of our employees and contractors are expected to uphold our commitment of respecting human dignity and human rights.  NDSM Holdings will take appropriate action in the event an employee’s or contractor’s conduct is found to be inconsistent with these principles or in violation of applicable human rights laws.  NDSM Holdings reserves the right to terminate employment, if necessary.

Training:  NDSM Holdings will conduct internal training to ensure that employees who have direct responsibility for supply chain management are knowledgeable of anti-slavery and human trafficking laws and that they share NDSM Holdings’ commitment to compliance with those laws.
